Decades later, her Brooklyn brandVeyajewelsfuses ancestral resilience—repurposing Liberty brass, building railings into rings, employing Yemeni artisans. “Immigrant beauty,” she says, “is rootsandwings.” Clients transform heirlooms (a thimble→skyscraper pendant, hairpin→cufflinks) in her multicultural studio. Each recycled box bears her father’s 1983 creed:“You need not choose between homeland and sky.”

timeless pieces that hold sentimental value for years to come.
